PERSONAL INJURY
Since 1985, Mr. Fortune has capitalized on his early experiences representing insurance companies by obtaining substantial results for his personal injury clients. He has helped injured men and women prove the existence of disputed insurance coverage; he has established the liability of insurance companies for the wrongful acts of unknown persons; and he has repeatedly recovered substantial sums on behalf of his injured clients. He has done this by obtaining jury verdicts, when necessary, and more often by reaching settlements before trial. Mr. Fortune devotes close personal attention to each personal injury client, rarely handling more than two or three at a time.
EMPLOYMENT LAWMr. Fortune has represented hundreds of men and women in order to help them solve their problems at work. His clients include officer level executives with contract disputes, severance issues, non-compete issues; and employees facing discrimination on the job, or termination, due to their age, disability, gender, or due to health, leave, or insurance issues. In 1986 Mr. Fortune obtained the first reported multi-million dollar verdict in the United States on behalf of a single employment discrimination victim in Vance v. Southern Bell Tel. & Tel. Co. Since that time he has represented many other victims of discrimination and has helped executives recover "seven-figure" settlements related to employment disputes and/or negotiations.
